The 7th International Workshop on

Physics and Computation 2016

A satellite worksop to UCNC 2016, Manchester, UK, 11–15 July 2016

The 7th International Workshop on Physics and Computation (PC2016) will be held as a satellite workshop to the 15th International Conference on Unconventional Computation and Natural Computation (UCNC 2016) from 11–15 July 2016.

The interaction between the theory of computation and physical systems forms a mutually rich domain of research beyond the traditional use of mathematics as a tool to model and understand the behaviour of physical systems. The techniques and methods of the theory of computation and information permit new insights into physical systems and processes, and in turn these systems open up the possibility of new methods of computation (e.g., quantum and DNA computation) and new approaches to certain problems.

This workshop is an interdisciplinary meeting that will bring together researchers from various domains with interests in physics and computation. Research and important issues relating to the interface between physics and the theories of computation, computability and information, including their application to physical systems, will be presented and discussed.

Submission of papers is now closed. However, we invite you to register and participate in both the workshop and the UCNC conference.

The proceedings will be published as a volume of Electronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science (EPTCS) before the workshop. Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit revised and extended versions of their papers, subject to additional review, for publication in a special issue of the International Journal of Unconventional Computing (IJUC).
